After spending more than 20 years in the exhibitions industry I thought I had seen a lot. But I’m delighted to say that the world of accreditation is indeed a weird and wonderful thing.
2018 was the year Accredit Solutions processed a record-number 2.1 million accreditations and I jumped into the wonderful worlds of music, fashion, politics and sport. It was the year we provided services to increasing numbers of teams in the Premier League (and are thrilled to have 3 clients in the top 5!) and won contracts with some of the largest rugby and cricket associations in the world, leading us to process accreditations across hundreds of sporting fixtures in Australia and New Zealand.
And it’s wonderful to make a difference. Not only by giving accreditation and operations managers the tools to do their jobs faster and harder, but by helping security managers guard against criminal activity, illegal workers and terrorist threats. Pope Francis and Her Majesty The Queen were just some of the VIPs we were helping to protect when our systems were used by the Dept. of Foreign Affairs and the Royal British Legion.
March hasn’t even started and already this year our software has been used at the BAFTAS, BRIT Awards, London Fashion Week and Guiness Six Nations.
And today I find myself planning for the London Marathon and a 2019 sporting tournament that will see the Accredit system process 80,000 accreditation across 48 games and 11 venues.
Weird and wonderful indeed!
